History repeats - German's smiling this time.



July 30, 1966; London, England: 97th minute(ET) of England-Germany WC final match. Score was 2-2. England's Geoff Hurst's shot struck the underside of the crossbar and bounced down. Referee ruled it a goal to make it 3-2 in favor of England. Germany lost the game and the WC by 2-4. Current technology reveals that the ball did not past the goal line. It was really harsh decision for the Germans.
 

June 27, 2010; Bloemfontein, South Africa: 38th minute of Germany-England pre-quarter final match of 2010 fifa WC. Germany was leading 2-1. England's Frank Lampard's shot from the edge of the German box struck the underside of the crossbar and bounced down. Referee ruled it as not goal.Germany went on winning 4-1 and advanced to the quarter finals. The replay and the below picture reveals that the ball dropped after the goal line and it was a clear goal.
