Trip to Chikmagalur

As promised in the Hampi post, I'm writing the experience of the trip to Chikmagalur, Karnataka. Historic temples at Belur and Halebid of Hoyasala Dynasty fall on the way to it and a small diverted route towards Hassan, leads to Shravanabelagola, a Jain pilgrimage. We included these places in the trip.

Weekend trip to Hampi

It should be hard to find someone who does not like to visit new places. My wife and I are not exceptions. Although, hill stations or beaches seem more exciting to us, we fell in love with historic places and the ancient artwork once we visited the temples at Belur and Halebid. Probably, I'll write about those sometime later. Hampi being UNESCO world heritage site and part of the capital of the famous Vijayanagara Empire, naturally attracted us. Reference of the Hindu epic Ramayana in Hampi added more excitement.

Commuting in bangalore made easy

Commuting inside Bangalore in car is sometimes very painful mainly because of 2 reasons - traffic jams and parking. Few days ago, I had to go to Jayanagar IV Block and I was planning to take some alternative way of commuting. I found some interesting information related to this on the Internet. Bengali poetry: Remembering school

School holds a very special place in everyone's heart, probably because we spend almost 10-12 years studying there. A lot of memories, faces of beloved teachers, friends come in the mind when we just think about it. It really feels sad when you get detached from school. I still miss my school days.

আমায় ক্ষমা কর তুমি,
সেই কবে তোমাকে ছেড়ে এসেছি আমি|
আর যাইনি ফিরে,

Bengali song lyrics - Mone rekho more

Being a music lover, I thought of writing a song. Basically, it's a poetry following the basics of a song: sthayi, antara, sanchari and abhog. Nevertheless, didn't find a composer to provide music to it :)


মণে রেখো মোরে
আজ আছি আমি, থাকবো না কাল জানি |

Poetry is addictive. If you enjoy writing one, you just can not resist writing another one. The time between the board exams and the results was really boring, but it excited me to play with the words.

My Tribute to Rabindranath

This was my first Bengali poem. This was written in the vacation after the board exams. I was really excited when i finished this one. I hope you'll like my tribute to the greatest poet in Bengali literature.
